This is the second of Ms. Collier's books I have read and this did not disappoint. While I have purchased stuff on eBay from time to time, I am far from being eBay-fluent. This guide helped me understand some of the details behind things about which I had wondered (mostly eBay backroom stuff). Armed with this book, I expect to recognize trends and be a more efficient purchaser; however, the main reason I liked the guide is I am about to start selling some unwanted but "very valuable" items -- sticking my toe in the seller side if you will. This guide will certainly help me with that.As Marsha says several time, eBay is constantly changing screens and formats but the basics don't change much -- I tried to find several of the screens included as screen shots in the book and they were no longer relevant. Other than small things like that, the book is great if you understand that it is a BASIC guide. I skimmed about half the book and read the other half thoroughly. But if you need the very basic help ("what you need to get started", Defn of ISP, etc) it is here and described clearly and concisely. The reason for four stars is the number of outdated screen shots and I would have liked a little more info on intricacies of Paypal and other payment methods. Got a good intro but I wanted a bit more. Other than that it was well worth the price for me.

I am a nubie to selling on EBay and found this book of great value. I was able to set up a PayPal acct and upload pictures of items to sell. Well worth the money all around.

This book was exactly what I needed to learn more about Ebay. I have been participating on EBay for 2 years now, learning on my own. I feel much more informed with this book, and it is written in easy to understand style. I recommend this book for all adults, not just seniors (older people), for both buying and selling interests. It is a winner!

I have just taken up playing guitar and have found this book to be a great resource! Not only can I use this for myself but now my kids are really interested in learning to play guitar. I think that this is going to be a great resource for them too! This is easy to use, provided great information and really could be used by a guitarist at any level. I was also so happy to find that it comes with 15 Free Guitar-Lesson and Jam-Track Streaming Videos. I really found the combination of the book and the videos a really great combo for learning. This would make an awesome gift too!

I have a major in music so I understand theory quite well, but I am more of a beginner at playing a guitar, and I think you explained music theory in a very detailed,simple and understandable way, good for any beginner.You explain, 3 and 4 note arpeggios, up to 2 and 3 octaves, scales,intervals, notes, inverted intervals, hand positions, frets-string-pictures to go with every arpeggio. Book is laid out in a nice progressive manner for beginner to advanced. Loved the videos, they are so helpful for a beginner like myself, when I play something, to hear in a video, what it should sound like when done correctly. Videos showed great techniques for tone, and legattos, and advanced moves for more advanced guitar players. Great!!

The guide is excellent! I played guitar in high school and usually would just look up tabletures and learn how to read them on my own. Lots of times learning how to play some of my favorite top 40 hits. But outside of learning how to play those songs with simple tabletures, i found it hard to understand the theory behind guitar seeing I was a vocal student. Guitar is certainly more technical than singing, and is like water and oil when it comes to me. So eventually I ended up letting it go.But lets fast forward to present day. I have long sold my guitar to a friend who played much better than I did, but I have a guitar here at home that I play with. I downloaded the guide and gave it a good read through, it didnt take long for me to get a hang of the theory and the instructions. The big bold print and the step by step directions made it very easy. There are charts and finger placement tabletures that make its very easy to follow along. The videos also make it extremely easy to follow, as well as apply what you have learned from your personal practice and lessons from the book. I have the version on kindle fire, and it is very easy to read and fast as well with loading and page to page flow. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS FOR ALL GUITAR LOVERS BEGINNING AND SEASONED!!

My son was given a guitar for Christmas which has been collecting dust. I don't know how to play and can't afford lessons. Between this book and the videos discussed in the book, I believe that I won't be forced to listen to the incessant strumming.The book is designed to be a type of progression. From beginner to advanced, the book offers step by step instructions that build upon each other. As you perfect a skill, the book provides another layer to your skill. One of the things I enjoy is the fact that it isn't just words with one or two charts. This book includes charts with finger placement by string and fret as well as note recognition. If there is a section of the book that you can't quite grasp, run to the videos for a audio/visual demonstration.I would definitely recommend this book.

Guitar Arpeggio Handbook is a hands-on approach to learn arpeggio fingering and notation on the guitar. I would definitely recommend it for beginner or advance guitarists who are thinking of expanding their knowledge about playing arpeggio on the guitar. Not only that the book is great, the free videos are very step by step, easy to follow, with very cool licks which will encourage you to practice more. All in all, absolutely great.

I got this for the family guitar player, and he loved it, and recommends it freely to family and friends. The other guitar items I got for him he insisted that I delete immediately, so he is pretty demanding in this field.

I was raised by a very strict Catholic family, lived across the street from the church, and was always afraid of God when I was young. The second section is on lace knitting techniques. This section includes information on casting on, joining yarns, binding off, and making increases. The last section of the book is on resources such as yarns, standard yarn weight systems, abbreviations, and symbols.The patterns are varied and include sweaters, socks, shawls, cowls, scarves, hats, and mittens. My favorites are the Cranbourne Scarf which is labeled as appropriate for the 'adventuresome beginner'. It utilizes Madelinetosh Tosh Sock Yarn in a beautiful off-white colorway. I love the True Love Scarf or Stole knit in white that calls for Jojoland Cashmere. This is a project for an advanced knitter. The Tiffany Triangle Shawl is for intermediate knitters and calls for Dream in Color Baby Australian Superwash Yarn. The Vortex Sprial Shawl or Afghan is gasp-aloud beautiful. Designed for the 'adventuresome intermediate' it calls for Cascade 220 100% Peruvian Highland Wool in Pumpkin Spice colorway. The Esplanade Mittens for the 'adventuresome beginner' uses one skein of Color Smooshy Sock Yarn and looks easy enough for a true beginner's project. The Rhossili Beach Watch Cap is designed for beginner knitters and calls for Dream in Color Classy Superfine Australian Superwash Merino. I think this is a very doable project for a beginner who is familiar with hat knitting. I just love the Mairi Tam, a slouch hat for intermediate knitters utilizing Dream in Color Smooshy Sock Yarn. The colorway is Beach Fog which is a lovely blue hue. Light-As-A-Feather Smoke Ring is designed for beginners and calls for Jade Sapphire Silk Cashmere in Amethyst Haze colorway, a lovely purple.The projects in this book are beautiful. It is a great resource and the patterns look clear and easy to read. All the patterns are complemented by clear photos of the lace knitting which is a real plus. My only gripe with the book is a purely personal one. All the patterns are charted and none of them are written out. I prefer to knit lace from written out patterns but I think I'm in the minority.Overall, this is a beautiful book for every knitter's library and is bound to inspire any lover of lace knitting.

I have knit something or swatched something from this book everyday since it arrived. I am overall an intermitted knitter and a beginner/intermittent lace knitter. I love how this book is challenging but not over the top, don't let the charts intimidate you they are explained very well. The book is broken down in 3 parts. Part one is understanding the basics, short but informative information on blocking, swatches with good tips and shared information, like what is the difference between lace knitting and knitting lace...who knew? Part 2 is learning, this is where my beginner/intermediate ability learned a new bind off, a new joining method and useful visuals. Part 3 begins the patterns, page 41 through 136. I first went for the cowls, a feather weight one and a worsted one. Both were a joy to knit. I knit several of each, even switching the yarn weights in the patterns for a nice result. One worsted ball of yarn from my stash made a complete cowl in just under 4 hours. If you like stoles and shawls you are in for a treat, with one converted for you in a worsted weight yarn versus superfine to make an afghan. Socks, fingerless mitts, and a nice lace sweater out of DK yarn for the adventuresome intermediate, round out the book. Overall a nice book for your collection.

I am loving this book. Interesting but practical patterns from beginner to advanced skill. Great photography and easy to follow directions. Definitely would recommend it to anyone interested in knitting lace items. One thing that is missing: Wendy references how to start the sock patterns from another book she has written which is good for sales but I would have appreciated having that instruction in this book as well since I have already purchased it. I expect all directions to be in the book that are needed for all the patterns. Why should I have to buy two books to complete the patterns in one book?

and this is unusual for a book bought sight unseen. There are a number of very attractive lace patterns that are now in my queue -- including a very simple scarf that is the perfect solution for some nubbly raw silk yarn. The stitch diagrams are very clear -- including the sometimes obscure purl 2 together through back loop -- and there are a couple of good diagrams of how to fix problems. The range of techniques and difficulty is reasonable -- from simple to high intermediate. I didn't give it 5 stars because, as another review commented, there are photos that are more attractive than informative--and the Dierdre sweater looks as though it has major bulk problems in the sleeve area.

As with other products I've purcased from this author the quality is excellent. She and her publisher put out what I think is a product of excellence. From the photography, to the layout and the simplicity of instructions, I don't think they could be any better. I enjoy her no fuss approach to her pattern instuctions, clear and concise. I recommend this book for knitters of all levels.

While I have knit lace quite frequently, here at last is one book that includes all the basics of lace knitting. Wendy puts forth the best cast on and bind off techniques and when to use them, the way to start a diagonal shawl, and how to add a lifeline and why. This is definitely my go-to reference whenever I knit lace. Highly recommend this book.

I am very dissapointed with this book, it did not deliver at all. In other words, the book is out dated. Actually, it should be written off market. Why? One reason is that the book did not have any form of configuration screen at all. Basical, if you use this book there is no form of step-by-step guide to tell you if you right or wrong. Secondly, there has been so much upgrade done on the module which the book did not mention. Even though, I was looking for a cheap book at the time of purchase. Personally, I felt like this is one of those bad investments.

I should have paid more attention to the title. It's called "Administering" SAP R/3 and not "Customising". It explains how to use the different SD functions not how to implement them. Unfortunately, it cannot be recommended to users either because it is too technical and does not explain things in a comprehensive manner. There are some books that emphasise the business process and help you decide how to implement this in SAP. This is not one of them. This book is smack in the middle of a no-mans land. It's no good for customising, no good for users and no good for planning business processes.I totally agree with some of the other reviewers. Your better off with the online documentation.Save your bucks. Don't waste them on this book.Incidently, if your looking for a book on SD customising, I can recommend "Implementing SAP Sales and Distribution": 5 stars!

This book offers no help at all in configuring the SD module.It basically just explains all the functionality that is available in the SD module, without explaining how you can configure SAP to use the functionality.If you are buying the book to see what SAP SD can do, fine. But if you want to configure the module, try another book! I recommend the SD book by Glynn Williams from McGraw Hill.I have also read the MM and FI-CO books in the ASAP series, and they are the same! - they cover the functionality and not the configuration.And even though these books cover the functionality, they don't explain how to use it effectively, they just tell you what functionality is available.You may as well spend some time using the SAP online help.I suppose these books were great when SAP was new and not many people understood it, but now the market is more intelligent and aware of what SAP can do the market expects quality information on configuring the SAP system and using it to solve business situations.
