I'm not sure what qualifies for "Top Hits", but the Alfred's Basic Piano Course Top Hits Level 4 seem to have top hits for the older generation. This book is good for kids who are advancing along in their piano and who want something more challenging to play, but not so challenging that it's frustrating. For those who have played in the previous Alfred Books, there are repeats (Can You Feel the Love Tonight and Beauty and the Beast again!?) but the variations are just a hair more difficult. Alfred's is a terrific piano book series---good songs. My son likes them a lot.
We tried all the Alfred Basic Piano Course Top Hits! Solo Books prior to this one, and they are all conpatible to ABRSM students at the same grades. My 13-year-old daughter has no problems sight-reading these pieces on her own, so her piano teacher can concentrate on her exam pieces with her. A little fun music for the classical piano student. Great selection for playing for friends and family!
I've been teaching for years and I like this method.
It's a pretty good collection, and correct as to the skill level, but some of the songs don't sound great on the piano and should have been exchanged for other songs that would have worked better.
My 12-year-old granddaughter loves this book. She is in this series and level and learned half the book on her own the first week she had it.
I loved the variety of familiar songs and the level was just hard enough to be challenging yet not hard enough to make me want to quit! A+++
