Mr. Handler does a good job of describing how to prepare for a camino hike, what to pack, how to travel, what to do while on the Camino. You can never get enough advice when planning a camino walk. This book gives very good advice.
Ryan did a great job of covering every aspect of what you need for the Camino. I especially appreciated the info on how to buy and get fitted for a pack and hiking shoes. I enjoyed his book and would recommend it.
I am starting to plan a trip to walk a portion of the El Camino in a year, and this is the first book I bought. I'm loving everything about it. Do I wish there were more photos and maps? Of course, that would be fun. But I'll get those in other books and research, which I'm now feeling more empowered to explore and understand.

I was getting ready to pack for our 7 day Camino pilgrimage but had not purchased a guidebook. Since we were only walking about 75--100 miles with a tour company, I did not want a comprehensive book on the Camino. I saw this book on Amazon and bought it for my kindle app. Read it in it's entirety on a 2 hour flight. Fabulous...can't wait for our experience!
This book was a good and frank overview about getting prepared to walk the Camino. I really enjoyed the way the author managed to work humour into his chapters which made it more like he was talking you through it than reading a list of things. Very informative and good amount of detail, with out being too dry.
Very interesting reading. However more pictures and a map or two needs to be included. I was disappointed.
